Earthquake Response Exercise June 1st

Dear neighbors,
We’re activating the Broadview Emergency Communication Hub on June 1st.
Don’t know what an “Emergency Communication Hub” is; be vigilant about stopping by!  You will learn SO much about disasters and the impact an earthquake will have on your daily routine. Don’t be gobsmacked about our new reality – learn what to expect and discover how neighbors will help neighbors after a significant event.

Saturday, June 1st
9 AM to noon
Luther Memorial Church
(13047 Greenwood Ave. N)

Spend an hour with us between 9 AM and noon; you’ll be SO glad you did!

WHY invest the time?  You can’t google “how to handle utilities after an earthquake” if the internet is down.  You could walk to a store to buy bottled water (the roads might not be passable) but you’re in a race with every other family in the area that didn’t stock up ahead of time.  (Stores will empty out with no restocking in sight.)  The HUB does NOT store water; what we offer is information on how much water you should have tucked away – and how to utilize water from places you might not have thought of.  Without a cell phone signal it will be a challenge to communicate with loved ones.  We have strategies that might help.
