OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Haller Lake Arts Council seeks to bring local artists and the community together for the benefit of all. Our goal is to encourage artistic endeavors in applied arts, fiber & needle arts, fine & visual arts, literary arts, and performing arts for the pleasure they bring the creator as well as the beholder. Our role is to expose the general community to the wonderful art that exists within our midst. The community and artists of north Seattle will be our main focus, while providing enjoyable and accessible experiences for all ages.

ART IN OUR SCHOOLS

Northgate Elementary School was the recipient of the first "Art in Our Schools" program of the Haller Lake Arts Council in March 2008. Special art sessions for 4 classes at Northgate Elementary for five weeks were made possible by grants from the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs of the City of Seattle and the Haller Lake Arts Council.
The second "Art in Our Schools" program of the Haller Lake Arts Council was in May 2010. A musical performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf by the Philharmonic Wind Quintet was a special assembly program for the entire student body of Northgate Elementary.
As the arts council grows we hope to be able to increase the amount we are able to give to this worthwhile program.

Concerts For Kids presents

Johnny Bregar

February 12  · 11 am · FREE

@ 10510 5th Ave. NE. · Northgate Community Center

jbMusic for kids that parents will love. "Johnny Bregar is a Ballard dad with a great rootsy voice who plays traditional American folk tunes, little-kid classics and sweetly witty original compositions. It's just the right speed for the kiddos, but the level of musicianship is so high that any adult within earshot will be drawn in. It's been five years since the release of his first CD, "Stomp Yer Feet" (which was followed by "Hootenanny" in 2006 and "Dragonfly" in 2008), but he keeps a low profile. Seek him out! Check his website for future appearances." - review from Parent Map "Best of 2010" List
