Safety

Broadview neighbors have organized block watches and communication groups to promote safety and emergency preparedness.   Residents of Broadview were early adopters of the block watch program when the Seattle Police Department started it in  the 1970’s.  More recently two spin-offs of Greenwood Aurora Involved Neighbors (GAIN) have formed.  They are GAIN The Highland and GAIN Broadview.  Forming a block watch is easy.   A high priority for residents is preventing burglaries and car prowls.  Burglary Prevention Things You Can Do

Some blocks have also organized for emergency preparedness using the Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare (SNAP) program.  Once neighbors on a block have organized a block watch it is a natural extension to add the SNAP program.
