SDOT Paving Greenwood Next Thursday-Friday NIGHTs 8/18-19

Email sent to Broadview Neighborhood from Paul Elliott, SDOT Community Relations:

As you have probably noticed in driving along Greenwood this past week, the contractor for the City’s repaving between N 112th and N 136th has largely completed the initial step in the process, which involved grinding off the top 2 inches of the old asphalt.

I’m emailing today to let you know that the plan is to repave the northern portion, N 125th to N 136th, at night, and to do so next Thursday and Friday nights, August 18-19.

The plan is to repave the southbound lanes on Thursday night, and the northbound lanes on Friday.  Greenwood Ave itself will remain open with a single travel lane in each direction, but with traffic shifted to the side of the street not being paved.

Vehicles cannot drive on the roadway while the asphalt is being laid or for several hours afterwards until it cools.  We are in the process of notifying the many apartment buildings, condos, townhouses, the retirement/nursing/rehab facilities, the school, and the library, but also wanted to reach out to the community club.  Anything you can do to help inform the public would be appreciated.

Attached is a flyer we are distributing to folks, outlining these details.  Feel free to reproduce, or I’d be happy to drop off a stack of whatever quantity, should you so desire.

Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks, and have a great weekend.
